Human reproduction is the highest and complex function of the body. In bodily development this comes last – considers as sign of puberty and again this function vanishes first as age advances and is considered as sign of increasing age. Abnormality in any organ of the body can effect reproduction adversely. Any organs abnormalities should be considered very important in treating infertility. Each childless couple must have through knowledge of reproductive physiology.
Important factors for fertility:-
- Semen should be normal – Male Factor
- Semen should be deposited at proper place in vagina – Coital Factor
- Cervix should be able to transfer the semen properly forward – Cervical Factor
- Uterus should be anatomically and functionally normal – Uterine Factor
- Fallopian tube should be functioning normally – Tubal Factor.
- Ovary should be secreting normal ova – Ovarian Factor
- Pituitary and other endocrine glands physiologically normal – Endocrine Factor
- Mind in sound psychological state – Psychological Factor.
Here I would like to elaborate only few important factors for considerations of my patients particularly on * Psychological Factor / *Cervical Factor / *Male Factor. Other factors are mainly medico-technical so for common mass understanding of these topics may not have place here, also because of space constrain does not permit me. So excuse me for non inclusion of information’s of all factors here. However if any one is interested I will be very pleased and encouraged to give detailed information on any required topic.
Psycho Social Aspects of Infertility
Infertile Couples should always understand that following emotions, which I am describing now, are very common and if any of infertile couple is reading this write up, they will be much benefited in knowing these aspects of infertility. For all those, I request to have print out version of this article and keep within reach for reading often.
At the marriage most couple simply take it for granted that they will be able to have children. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. In fact, one in five couples trying to have a baby will experience problems in doing so. Couples are often shocked when they discover that they are infertile and commonly at beginning go through a period of disbelief. Few others rush into treatment without proper diagnosis and planning.
Infertility is often described as a life crisis. Infertility is only medical condition that has many emotional aspects. Feelings such as anger, sadness, guilt, and anxiety are common and may affect couple’s self-esteem and self-image. Couple may find it difficult to share their feelings with family and friends, which can lead to isolation. It is important to know that these feelings are normal responses to infertility and are experienced by many couples. Ability of physician to deal with psychological problems is of paramount importance simultaneously with treatment of infertility. I have empathy for all my infertile patients and I always take care about psychological aspects first and at least make them comfortable.
After shock and feelings of denial, during fertility treatments when they do not get desired result as per expectations, couple experience anger. Guilt and blame are other common emotions. This can lead to severe depression, isolation, and self-esteem problems… Unspoken guilt and blame can make life very difficult. Couple might also find it increasingly difficult to go to work, socialize, or even get out and meet family and friends. Couples require not only time and money, but also intense emotional commitment for treatment. This depression can lead to numerous physical side effects and put a strain on relationships, work, and enjoyment of daily life.

Ayurveda – the Complete Medical Science
Ayurveda implies the science of life. It recommends the measures that have to be adopted in routine life style as well as the treatment procedures for diseases. It is a science with its base on the Tridosha principle. Doshas are the representation/generalisation of the biological functions of human body. Both health and disease are based on the balance or imbalance of these doshas.
These variations in the doshas are brought about by various factors of food and other regimen, environment, climate etc. Its a common day experience to find the role of food, food pattern in the formation or mitigation of ailment. How this can be elicited will be detailed further. It can be thought about to a good extent that we are what we eat. There are clear cut and vivid detailing of the remedial measures to bring vitiated dosha to normality / balance by Sodhana (purifying therapy) and samana (curative therapy).
The uniqueness of Ayurveda is Rasayana (Rejuvenation therapy) which aims at increasing the longevity of a person by improving the functions of the Saptadhatus (the seven structural units of the body). This has profound importance in immunity status enhancement of a person and also in the cure of severely ill patients generally incurable diseases. Kerala Ayurveda doctors specialise in this aspect.
The theoratical and practical framework of Ayurveda is wide enough to include all that is essential to make a man healthy and happy. It includes the study of right conduct (dharma), which is necessary for the healthy growth of society in which the man lives. Further it deals with the philosophical aspect of life, the knowledge of which contributes greatly to the comfort and happiness of all human beings. Ayurveda philosophically understands the limitation of human efforts. Still it talks about the means of prolonging life and the methods of invigorating it.
The objectives of Ayurveda are mainly two, the first being the maintenance of positive health -that is preventive healthcare and the other – treatment of diseases i.e. curative healthcare. These clearly defined objectives are achieved through logically developed means in a classical way. On the basis of objectives defined, the sum and substance of Ayurveda can be classified into two parts;

Reading about a medical treatment does not make one an expert or we could all be healers. There are many years of experience and learning that goes into mastering a particular healing modality. This is especially true of the ancient practice of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is a healing practice that has existed in India for thousands of years. It is a practice that not only seeks to balance the body, but also includes balancing the mind and spirit as well. This is done through diet, herbs, and medication practices. Exercise techniques, such as form of Asanas, a type of yoga exercise, connect the three areas that need to be in balance. Unless you live in India or some other part of the world that has an Ayurvedic clinic, getting this specialized type of healing is impossible. That is until now. With the growing trend of medical tourism, the ability to get treatments has become not only possible, but it is very affordable. Ayurveda Canarias Health Center in Spain offers Ayurvedic treatments that take care of both goals. First, the Ayurvedic doctors’ can treat many kinds of chronic and acute disorders. They spend the time to assess each patient individually. They decide what specific treatments are needed to bring the patient back into harmony with themselves and their environment.
Tamarindo Club Ayurvedic Spa is a luxury resort in the subtropical paradise of Fuerteventura. Located next to the natural park “The dunes of Corralejo”. No matter where you are in the spa you can enjoy breath taking views of Mother Nature. To give the full experience of Indian Ayurveda, the resort was built in a style inspired by Indian architecture. It boasts terraced lawns and pools with rich interiors that take you back to an era of Indian Emperors and Princes.

Ayurveda is an Indian medical science that was created over 5000 years ago. The documents that were created related to Ayurveda are from the Vedas. The Vedas contain information on a many different subjects such as philosophy, logic, engineering, agriculture, economics and politics, and many other subjects. In the Vedic philosophy of health, there is the principle of natural balance within the body and harmony with the environment. People are a part of the environment not separate from it. The goal of this practice is to obtain and maintain balance within the body and mind, while living in harmony with nature. This is the pathway to true health. So is this ancient practice for the fortunate few? Maintaining your health is based on nothing more complex than understanding the characteristics of your body and qualities of the food you eat. The word Ayurveda is derived from two words, Ayus and Veda. Understanding the meaning of both words is necessary to fully grasp the philosophy of this discipline. The English translation of ayus is “life”. Veda is a Sanskrit word which means “knowledge” or “science”. Although Vedic knowledge originated in India, it does not mean this information is of relevance only to Indians. Knowledge is the universal asset of mankind — it is not the property of one region. The great news is that you can go to India and receive Vedic treatments from the source. It costs much less than you think and your insurance may even help pay for it.
First, let us look more at the actual practice of Ayurveda. The two aims of Ayurveda are to maintain the health of those who are well and the other is to cure diseases of those who are sick. This aspect relates to various diseases, their causes, diagnosis, remedies and therapies to cure and prevent relapses of illness.

In general, stress is caused by over stimulation. Life without stimulus would be very dull and boring. We seek fun, enjoyment, fulfillment of desires, and choose to do pleasurable things such as watching television or going to a disco. Stimulation, up to a certain extent, is necessary for keeping a person healthy. However, too much stimulus may ultimately damage your health and well-being. Therefore, it is necessary to strike a balance.
Ayurveda describes how the optimal use of things – amount of food, sleep, sex indulgence, etc. – helps to maintain the required equilibrium with respect to mind, body, and soul.
Every individual has three types of basic energies or biological humors, which are referred to as “doshas“. They are vata, pitta, and kapha. According to Ayurveda, stress is a state of imbalance, in which the normal flow of these energies in the body (tridoshas) is disrupted. More…
